Sushi-licious!

Well, I finally had sushi, REAL sushi, for the first time. I've had sushi a couple of times at Jumbo Buffet, or some other gross asian buffet of sorts. I've wanted to try real sushi but just hadn't done it yet. I'm a brave eater and I love seafood and I've eaten some raw seafood and loved it so I was willing to try. But honestly? I thought I probably wouldn't like it. The "sushi" at Jumbo Buffet is like comparing salad shrimp to Lobster. No comparison. Hillary was having her pictures done downtown and we decided to head to Gateway afterwards. Hillary suggested Happy Sumo and I decided it was time. It was a Tuesday night and it was CROWDED. Tuesday, for crap sake. But I guess it's the thing. There were a million choices and I decided on the "Rock and Roll" which contained, salmon, cream cheese, avocado rolled in tempura crunchies (no clue) topped with baked dynamite (no clue), sumo sauce & green onions, plus it had orange salmon roe on top (caviar). You have to eat sushi with chopsticks and you dip it in soy sauce and you have to eat it at once. No small bites. Otherwise it falls apart. My first bite....heavenly...absolutely delicious (hate the word). Seriously it was so good!!!! Granted it was a tame sushi, nothing scary. But the flavors were so awesome I can't explain it. It was one of the best combination of flavors I've ever had. I'm not sure if it was that I was eating something I'd never eaten before or if it was just plain good, but either way...it was heavenly. I can't wait to go again! Who's with me?!!!
